New Story in Cease, Cows!

Nishina Sekio in a Tunnel Alone (1100 words) is now online. If you are curious about the historical figure who is at the center of this story, you can read more about him (in Japanese) here. I find him interesting because he was both a villain whose horrific invention was responsible for the deaths of many American and Japanese soldiers in WWII, and also a deeply tragic figure who lost both his closest friend and, at the age of only twenty-one, his own life to that same invention. You can also visit some surviving examples of the Kaiten torpedoes that he developed at the USS Bowfin Museum in Hawaii or at the Kure Maritime Museum in Hiroshima.
